Sorry Text, Repeated
One hundred copies of sorry text, ready to select and paste. The box below rebuilds the block at 20, 50, 1000 or 10000 copies, and writes the larger ones to a downloadable file.
Repeat it 100, 1000 or 10,000 times
100 copies — 1,099 characters.
“Text” is part of the search, not part of the apology
People type sorry text meaning a text message that says sorry. Repeated literally, as above, every copy ends in the word text. The plain versions are sorry repeated, at five characters a copy, and i am sorry repeated, at ten.
A coincidence worth knowing
“Sorry text” and “i am sorry” are both exactly ten characters long, so they build blocks of identical size: 1,099 characters at a hundred copies, down to the character. Only one of the two reads as an apology when it arrives.
Character count, including the smaller runs
| Copies | Characters |
|---|---|
| 20 | 219 |
| 50 | 549 |
| 100 | 1,099 |
| 1,000 | 10,999 |
| 10,000 | 109,999 |
Where it fits
- Discord caps a message at 2,000 characters. A hundred copies fit in one, a thousand need six.
- An X post holds 280 characters, which is 25 copies.
- As an SMS the 100-copy block splits into eight parts of 153 characters. The 20-copy run, at 219 characters, splits into two.
Before you send it
A hundred sorries reads as a bit between friends. In an apology meant seriously it reads as noise, and the person on the other end has to scroll past all of it to reach whatever you actually said. The 20 and 50 counts exist for that reason. If the point is to ask rather than to apologize, please repeated does the same job with the right verb.
